Child Health Usa
Today some of the streets in the poor colonias in Texas were flooded. App. 60% of the people here in Alamo live under the poverty line and most people don't have health insurance. This colonia is called El Gato and the children were having fun with all the water flooding there houses and spreading bacteria. None of the people I talked to complained about anything and overall they like there houses and lots. Texas is the second richest state in the US but still in this area you see people in shacks, grassing goats in the front of the house, kids only wearing a diaper and on the street next to where these pictures were taken gangs are constantly shooting at each other. Last week a revenging drive-by-shoot paralized a man from one of the gangs. "Don't go there. They will shoot you and their pit bulls will bite you" said Victor who grew up on this street.
